Today we share a story that, with so much hustle and bustle, almost goes unnoticed. The short film “Hermann”, made by Jordi García, has had a considerable impact and has won the first prize at the 5th edition of the FICMA Salamanca Short Film Festival.
This beautiful story is based on a real event that we will all remember: the disconnection from reality due to Alzheimer’s has made Hermann Shreiber believe that confinement applauses were due to his musical talent. A beautiful and painful story that Jordi has adapted into his animated short film.
At Berdac we have a special connection with this disease, after all, the idea was born from an encounter with it. The investigation is progressing little by little, but there is still a lot to really help people like Hermann. The latest news, for example, links environmental pollution with the risk of suffering from it. It is also related to obstructive sleep apnea, although it is not known for sure what this relationship is. But it seems that we are still far from being in a position to eradicate it.
We take this opportunity to recall that another film festival, Memorables Film Festival, created by the CIEN Foundation (Center for Research on Neurological Diseases), has extended the deadline for submitting an application until November 15. For sure Hermann is a good candidate to win it, but there is a lot of talent out there. Go Ahead!
